Boeing Braces for a Strike

Boeing Braces for a Strike

Boeing’s collective bargaining agreement with the IAM expires at midnight on September 12th. The IAM spent the past few years preparing their membership for the eventuality of a strike. On July 17th, the IAM will hold a strike sanction vote at T-Mobile Park (home of the Seattle Mariners) in downtown Seattle. While the sanction vote does not commit the union to a strike, it will be an important show of strength. The sanction vote is held mid-day on a Wednesday. The expectation is that the workforce will leave the factory silent on the afternoon of July 17th. Our expectation is it will fall silent again midnight on the 12th of September.
